One of the joys of staying at Wonham Oak is that there’s so much here on your doorstep. Our local village Bampton – a short drive or 40 minutes walk – really does have everything you need. It boasts a bakery (delicious pies and pasties), a fantastic butcher (all meat sourced from local farms) and a small supermarket for essentials.  Fortunately there’s an excellent pub for those times when cooking at home is simply off the menu. Nearby is the ancient and picturesque town of Dulverton and Tiverton is 15 minutes away if you need to access a larger town. If you feel like venturing slightly further afield then the beautiful historic city of Exeter is great to explore.

Of course the main pull of this area is the breath-taking scenery of Exmoor National Park - perfect for dog walking and cycling holidays. Beyond that the stunning Devon coastline  with its wide open surfing beaches, picture-perfect coastal villages and rocky fishing coves.
